Fragrance Exploration: A Candle Making Experience

Fragrance is an immersive offering that encourages participants to interact with fragrance as a creative medium.
Our sense of smell is one of the most evocative senses we have yet rarely do we have means to explore the world of fragrance as a creative practice. Candle making provides the perfect opportunity to craft an experience with fragrance at the center. Through a series of creative exercises that include writing and watercolor Cerberus Candle Company Founder, jess demshar, will guide participants through the process of using scents and fragrance for creative expression.
All participants will have the opportunity to pour two candles with fragrances of their own making using non-toxic candle oils and 100% soy wax. Participants will even have the option of using Cerberus Candle Company’s embossing label makers to hand punch their own candle labels in Cerberus’s signature style. In recognition of Dia de Los Metros this class will have a special emphasis on crafting Ofrenda candles and honoring our loved ones.
At the end of this course all participants will have learned all they need to start candle making at home with their new found appreciation for scent as an artistic medium.
All materials are included in the price of enrollment. Participants are encouraged to bring pictures or other items to aid them in evoking a loved one or memory as part of their process.
Please note that due to the nature of candle wax needing to set participants will need to pick up their candles from Luna and Luz after the class has concluded. Shipping can be arranged for a small additional fee.
